Sonnex is an Australian owned and operated precision manufacturing company with over 30 years of experience in engineering, sheetmetal and profile cutting based in Elizabeth South, South Australia. The company was founded by Jano Tuchyna in 1999 who has been working with metal for over three decades.
Jano’s passion for manufacturing and for creating solutions has supported a significant business growth which included providing production and maintenance of production lines and essential services at Holden.
When GM Holden started to slow down their production in South Australia, the business adapted and diversified, focusing on new capabilities towards plate processing and sheet metal. This has enabled Sonnex to meet the needs of a broader market.
Jano’s search for the right machinery has taken him to Korea, Japan and USA. From his travels, he brought a Whitney laser machine home - the first of its size in the Southern Hemisphere. The size of the cutting bed at 6m long enabled Sonnex to cut parts that customers could not source elsewhere.
Since then, Sonnex has continued to invest in the latest machinery, including laser machines and a brake press for folding of parts.
With a team of well-trained and highly skilled operators, Sonnex continues to create the desired products from the ideas and drawings stage, right through to cutting, folding, welding, painting, and installation for more than two decades.
We aim to provide our customers with assured quality service, as well as the capacity to be versatile, highly cost efficient and with a fast turn-around time. More importantly the company's success has been its ability to respond to customer needs with a family orientated and personal service.
